Hey gang I am starting to work on an affordable GPS and Glide computer system. The GPS map and glide computer is the free software I am running now on my pda called XCSoar www.xcsoar.org/mediawiki/index.php/FeaturesIt has proven to be reliable and powerful. The system I use now is running XCSoar on my PDA with a cheap GPS blue tooth receiver. The only draw back to the system is that a PDA is not very readable in daylight conditions. XCSoar is now able to run on any Portable Car GPS (Personal Navigation Assistant) device that runs Windows CE 5.0. What this does is offers a nice daylight readable screen on a device that you can pick up for around $200 and doubles as a car GPS for when you're not using it in the plane. And the soaring program is free, where as a program like SeeYou costs $300.00 in itself. I've not the means to purchase a PNA at the moment but I will update every one to how it goes when I do. Stay posted or research it on your own. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and successes with every one. Skimmer
