Hello everyone, For many of you this will be the first of hearing this but the FAA has said that; Pilots cannot exercise the privileges of their PAPER pilot certificates after March 31, 2010. Certificates issued under 14 CFR Part 63 and 65 will expire March 31, 2013. Read it here www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/expiring_paper_certificates/To replace your Paper pilot’s certificate you can easily request one on the www.faa.gov website here; www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/airmen_services/You will essentially be requesting a replacement license. I believe the cost to be $2.00 Get it done now as you will not be able to fly with a paper Certificate after March of 2010. Not only will this be a violation but I think your insurance probably won’t cover you if your Cert isn’t up to par, as they have a tendency to try and side step all the claims they can through technicalities. Now some of you have a flying related winter project to do, aren’t you glad? See you at the field, Pete “Skimmer” Casti
